We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join a respected community social services organisation, on a short-term contract basis. ASAP start for around 1-3 months with potential to extend.

This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing efficient day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality, client-centred service delivery while supporting a large and diverse workforce of over 200 staff.

About the Role

This role requires strong leadership across quality assurance, health and safety, client welfare, and operational systems within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all operational and business activities across Health and Disability Services to ensure effective, efficient, high-quality client outcomes
  • Provide leadership to ensure employees achieve KPIs aligned with strategic direction and business plans
  • Work alongside the General Manager Health Services on staff performance matters
  • Ensure compliance with contract obligations, certification standards, quality frameworks, and audit requirements
  • Maintain strong stakeholder satisfaction across clients, staff, partners, and funders
  • Oversee financial and budgetary delegations in line with Delegated Authorities Policy
  • Participate in strategic and organisational development initiatives and support change implementation
  • Maintain excellence across business systems, legislative compliance, and contract performance

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience in senior people leadership roles
  • Experience in the disability sector is highly desirable; however, strong health sector leadership experience will also be considered.
  • Extensive operational leadership experience
  • Proven success in managing teams, budgets, and operational performance
  • Experience implementing new systems and leading service change
  • Strong understanding of the needs of older adults and people with disabilities
  • Experience working cross-culturally and within a strengths-based framework
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and digital systems capability
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (management or leadership preferred)
  • Flexibility to work outside normal office hours and be on-call if required
