We are a busy Chinese restaurant providing authentic A La Carte Chinese cuisine in Albany, Auckland. Now we are looking for a competent manager to independently manage the whole operation of the restaurant. 

Job duties of the position offered

  • Full responsibilities for the management and operation of our restaurant.

  • Dining room management, customer service management, including but not limited to conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service, and handling customer complaints, and public relation management. 

  • Bookkeeping for the restaurant (working hours of staff, wages calculation, purchasing records, stock records, financial cashbook etc.).

  • Waiting and kitchen staff recruitment, training, setting out staff performance standards, maintenance of service quality and standards, task allocation, shift arrangement and termination.    

  • Grocery/drinks order/purchases according to budget and stock management.

  • Decisions on discounts offered to particular clients and reservations, and special promotion price setting up. 

  • Menu planning and updating for A La Carte meals from time to time, and this needs to be done in conjunction with head chef.

  • Special function and catering service planning and organising (wedding banquet, birthday parties and so on) price negotiation, organisation and coordination. 

  • Health, safety and hygiene management to ensure high standards to be maintained to meet the requirements of the relevant regulations.


Requirements of the position offered

  • Level 4 Diploma or higher qualification in management, business and/or hospitality, or at least two years relevant work experience. 
  • Be available to work on weekends and public holidays as per the roster
  • Flexibility to work within a 7-Days a week operation including split shifts
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with good communication skills and team spirit
  • Able to work till late evenings
