B & L Good Limited, a well-established supermarket, trading as- New World Brookfield based in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, is seeking skilled Bakers to join its team. The successful candidates will be passionate about baking, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality fresh products while supporting the efficient day-to-day operations of our in-store bakery.


Key Responsibilities-

• Prepare a variety of doughs, pastries, and baked goods by accurately measuring, mixing, and shaping ingredients according to company recipes and production standards.
• Operate bakery equipment, both manual and mechanical, to knead, roll, portion, and form doughs and batters efficiently.
• Set up trays, moulds, and baking equipment, monitoring baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent, high-quality products.
• Apply glazes, fillings, icings, and finishing touches to bakery items as required.
• Conduct quality checks on raw materials and finished products to maintain company standards for taste, appearance, and freshness.
• Produce bakery items for retail sale, ensuring consistency, presentation, and adherence to recipes.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service when interacting with customers in the retail setting.
• Comply with all Food Safety, Health & Safety, and hygiene requirements throughout preparation, baking, and handling processes.
• Monitor ingredient levels, report shortages, and assist with stock ordering to support smooth operations.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly cleaned and stored.
• Assist with the development of new bakery products or seasonal offerings as directed by management.
• Support the attractive presentation and merchandising of bakery items in-store to enhance customer appeal.
• Perform any other duties that contribute to the efficient operation of the bakery department and retail floor.


The candidate will be required to work at least 30 hours per week and be paid between $25 to $32 per hour depending on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.


Requirements for the role -
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in baking or at least a relevant level 4 qualification.
• Availability to work on weekends when required.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional approach.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
