The Opportunity

We are seeking someone to become an integral part of a collaborative clinical team. This position is based in either Huntly or Hamilton, with occasional travel to additional clinics within the region.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans
  • Request and interpret diagnostic investigations, ensuring timely follow-up and communication of results
  • Facilitate appropriate referrals and coordinate ongoing care when specialist input is required
  • Provide continuity of care through proactive health management and follow-up
  • Support health promotion initiatives, empowering patients to reduce risk factors and manage long-term conditions
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure integrated, patient-centred service delivery
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate
  • 3–5 years’ experience in general practice roles
  • Confidence working with culturally diverse communities
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical competence and leadership capability
  • Sound knowledge of New Zealand health policy and primary care frameworks
  • Experience with Medtech or comparable patient management systems 
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to culturally safe practice
  • Willingness to travel within the Waikato region
  • Full, clean NZ driver’s licence
