Our client provides a peaceful and friendly environment for people to enjoy while they undergo cancer treatment. The lodge provides accommodation for up to 83 guests each week (including some support companions), and a free shuttle to take guests to and from their treatment.

We are looking for individuals with excellent people skills to host guests at the lodge. Some roles are casual however we do have a full-time role that may lead to a permanent position for the right person.

Roles available:

We’re seeking casual staff for a mix of weekday and weekend shifts.

Weekday shifts can be between the hours of 7am – 9pm and Weekend shifts may include overnight stays, though the shuttle service does not operate on weekends.

Responsibilities will include:

  • The lodge is an accommodation and meal service. Guests are self-sufficient and there is no nursing care required on site.
  • Provide basic data entry and complete computer-based tasks – tech confidence is essential
  • Shuttling guests to and from accommodation (Full NZ Drivers license essential, P End a bonus)
  • Build rapport with guests and carry out regular welfare checks
  • Assist with light duties such as tidying, meal service, laundering linen, and garden care
  • Help with guest check-ins during overflow periods
  • Step in wherever needed to support smooth day-to-day operations

You have exceptional people skills and the ability to relate to people from all walks of life. You will be empathetic to people’s needs and privacy. In addition to being mature and extremely reliable, you will offer a high level of initiative, be well rounded and happy to pitch in wherever needed, and value working as part of a supportive team.
