We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated Bakers to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be passionate about baking, reliable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves preparing a variety of baked goods while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and food safety.

What we offer:

Full-time permanent position – minimum guaranteed 35 hours per week

Pay rate: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour (before tax), depending on the applicant’s background and relevant work experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and bake a range of bread, buns, pastries, and other baked goods according to established recipes and standards
  • Ensure all baked products are fresh, well-presented, and meet quality expectations
  • Mix, knead, proof, and bake dough while monitoring baking times and temperatures
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
  • Monitor ingredient stock levels and assist with ordering supplies when needed
  • Assist with developing new bakery items or seasonal specials
  • Properly store ingredients and finished products to maintain freshness and quality
  • Work efficiently to ensure products are prepared in time for daily service and peak hours

 Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years’ relevant experience as a Baker or in a similar bakery role, preferably within a bakery or café environment.
  • Good knowledge of baking techniques, dough preparation, proofing, and baking processes.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards in a bakery environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and consistency.
  • A positive attitude with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Ability to work respectfully within a diverse and culturally inclusive workplace.
