Thai Massage Therapist

We are looking for two Massage Therapists to join our friendly team at Sao Thai Therapeutic Massage in Queenstown-Lakes District, Otago Region.

Candidates must have at least two years of proven relevant work experience. Alternatively, applicants may hold a minimum 150-hour Thai Massage certificate together with a bachelor’s degree in any field.

We are seeking individuals who demonstrate the following qualities:

• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform Thai massage treatments, including deep tissue techniques
• Flexibility to work at different branch locations within the Queenstown-Lakes District when required; therefore, the ability to travel within the region is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing client bookings and schedules to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Consulting with clients to understand their specific needs, concerns, and treatment preferences.
• Performing Thai Massage treatments using a variety of techniques based on your experience and expertise to address client concerns effectively.
• Delivering high-quality service, incorporating oils, hot and cold treatments, aromatherapy sticks, and hot stones where appropriate.
• Collaborating with the business owner to develop and promote special offers and promotional deals.
• Handling general massage therapy responsibilities, including welcoming clients, preparing treatment areas, and maintaining a professional and relaxing environment.
• Maintaining high hygiene standards, ensuring the workspace, equipment, and treatment rooms are clean and presentable.
• Inspecting and maintaining equipment, ensuring all tools and facilities are in good condition and the business remains well-presented and fully functional.

The role is permanent and full-time, with a minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed, which will be generally worked between 10:30 am – 7:30 pm, Tuesday to Sunday. The hours worked during this time are flexible and can be discussed with management to suit both the therapist and the business.

The start date for this position will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

The earnings range:

Minimum $30.00 per hour

Maximum $35.00 per hour or as negotiated.

Applicants for this position must be onshore and preferably citizens of New Zealand, have a valid NZ residency, or hold an open work visa, although other applicants may be considered.

Any applicant must be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug screening test and Police check as part of the pre-employment screening process.
