We’re seeking skilled Community Registered Nurses to join a Wellington-based palliative care service on a casual basis, supporting patients and whānau in their homes across the region.
This is an ideal opportunity for nurses wanting flexibility while continuing to practise at an advanced clinical level in a highly rewarding specialty.
About the Role
- Deliver specialist palliative nursing care in patients’ homes
- Provide holistic assessment, symptom management, and clinical support
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team
- Support patients with complex clinical needs in the community setting
- Step in to provide cover across service demand as required
Shifts are generally worked between 8am–8pm, with most finishing around 4:30–5:00pm. Flexibility and availability across this window are essential.
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Nurse with current practising certificate
- Strong background in palliative care, or closely aligned experience
- Acute hospital experience (oncology, renal, or complex medical care preferred)
- Confidence working autonomously in community environments
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Please note:
This role is not suitable for new graduates.
Experience solely in aged care rest homes or dementia care will not meet the clinical requirements for this position.
