We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Education and Outreach Events Coordinator to lead and deliver engaging education and awareness activities for men, their families, communities, and health professionals across Aotearoa New Zealand.
This is a dynamic role for someone who enjoys connecting with people, coordinating events, and delivering meaningful education programmes that make a real impact. You will represent our organisation at community events, build strong relationships across the health and community sectors, and ensure our education initiatives and resources are accessible, relevant and effective.
Based in Albany, Auckland, this role offers some flexibility for remote work.
**Travel across New Zealand, occasional overnight stays, and some evening or weekend work will be part of the role. There may also be opportunities for international travel**
Key responsibilities
- Lead and deliver community education and awareness activities, including public presentations, expos and outreach events
- Facilitate education sessions for workplaces, community organisations and health professionals
- Plan, coordinate and attend events and conferences, including managing logistics, resources and materials
- Manage the planning and delivery of outreach programmes
- Recruit, coordinate and support Education Ambassadors and event volunteers
- Maintain and update education and awareness resources and materials
- Develop partnerships with Māori and Pasifika organisations to support culturally appropriate programmes
- Ensure health and safety requirements are met for all outreach and event activities
- Monitor programme activity and provide regular reporting on outcomes and impact to the Support Network Manager and Board
The Successful Candidate
- Background in health promotion or the health sector
- Experience supporting people affected by cancer or other long-term conditions is desirable
- A health professional qualification is desirable
- Strong communication, presentation and public speaking skills
- Experience delivering education, training or community engagement programmes
- Event coordination or event management experience
- Experience facilitating workshops, presentations or group sessions
- Experience recruiting, coordinating or supporting volunteers
- Strong planning, organisational and reporting skills, including managing budgets and activity tracking
- Cultural awareness and willingness to incorporate Te Ao Māori perspectives into programme delivery
- A full New Zealand driver licence and confidence driving vehicles up to a large van size
- Strong digital skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and online platforms/CRM systems
