Cook

We are a Nepalese restaurant based in Rotorua and are currently seeking two (2) passionate Cooks to join our team in a permanent, full-time role. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen and take pride in preparing high-quality food.

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking dishes in accordance with our menu and recipes while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen safety.

You will be guaranteed 30 hours per week rostered between 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, Monday to Sunday, depending on the business needs. We offer competitive wage between $26.00 - $31.00 per hour based on your skills and experience. 

Job Duties:

·         Prepare and cook dishes in accordance with our recipes and menu requirements

·         Prepare ingredients including chopping, marinating, seasoning, and portioning food items

·         Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to a consistent and high standard

·         Monitor food quality during preparation and cooking

·         Store food appropriately and assist with stock rotation

·         Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, cooking areas and equipment

·         Follow food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards at all times

·         Assist with receiving and storing kitchen supplies and food deliveries

·         Work cooperatively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations

·         Perform other related duties as reasonably required

Requirements:

·       Must have 2 years of relevant work experience OR a relevant qualification in Cookery, Culinary Arts or Hospitality

·         Strong knowledge of Nepalese cuisine is advantageous

·         Good time management and teamwork skills

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

·         Commitment to quality, hygiene, and safety standards
