Giapo, a renowned artisan ice cream shop in Auckland, is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our creative kitchen team. We take pride in reimagining ice cream and delivering extraordinary, artful experiences to our customers. Key Responsibilities - Independently prepare, make, and store ice cream products and decorative elements. - Gather and prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, and dicing. - Prepare high-quality coffees for customers and for use in ice cream creations. - Supervise and support junior staff in coffee and ice cream preparation, including daily machine setup. - Maintain and store equipment and tools appropriately. - Uphold and enforce health and safety standards in the kitchen and preparation areas. - Assist in daily operational setup of coffee and ice cream machinery. Skills and Experience Required - Minimum 1.5 years of experience in coffee and ice cream making, including at least 6 months specifically in ice cream production. - Exceptional attention to detail, cleanliness, and consistency in food preparation. - Ability to follow production guidelines and lead by example in a collaborative team environment. - Genuine enthusiasm for artisan desserts, creativity, and exceptional presentation. Hours and Remuneration Working hours are rostered between 12 pm and 10.30 pm, including weekdays and weekends. You must be comfortable working independently at times. Pay rate: $26–$27 per hour, for a minimum of 30 hours per week. Additional hours may be required during peak seasons (up to 50 hours per week).
