We are currently looking for a qualified Cook who is attentive to and skilful in food preparation and production.

What you do:

  • Ensure food is prepared and cooked according to customer orders and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Maintain high standards of Vietnamese cuisine by following established food preparation methods and quality standards.
  • Prepare and cook menu items using appropriate cooking tools, equipment, and techniques, including seasoning and plating.
  • Discuss food preparation and service issues with kitchen staff to support continuous improvement.
  • Assist in updating menus and developing new dishes in line with market trends and customer demand.
  • Ensure all food preparation, storage, and service comply with hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Ensure workplace incidents and accidents are recorded in the Injury Register and accident report forms are completed when required.
  • Train junior or less experienced kitchen staff by demonstrating cooking procedures and techniques.

The right candidate:

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent time management ability.
  • Understand and know what to do in the event of an emergency.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques, food products, and recipes.
  • Familiarity with sanitation regulations.
  • Bringing the heartiest principles to life offerings as well as an authentic experience to our customers.

The employment is on an ongoing basis. The role is based on an assured 30-hour working week carried out in Whanganui. You will be required to work late nights, weekends and holidays.
