We are currently seeking Aged Care Assistants to join our team in Auckland at Pinnacle Long Bay Retirement Village and the Pinnacle Aged Clubhouse.

Job Description

We are seeking compassionate and reliable Aged Care Assistants to support elderly residents and clients in their daily lives.

Your main role will be to provide personal care and practical support to help maintain the wellbeing, dignity and comfort of the people we serve.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide personal care such as assisting residents and clients with bathing, dressing, grooming and other daily living activities
  • Assist and support residents and clients in their daily routines
  • Observe residents’ wellbeing and report any concerns or changes to senior staff
  • Accurately document relevant care information as required
  • Follow company policies, procedures and work instructions
  • Comply with Health and Safety policies and ensure a safe working environment
  • Be familiar with appropriate emergency procedures
  • Treat residents and clients with respect, dignity and compassion at all times
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of residents and clients
  • Assist with general housekeeping duties including cleaning, sanitising and laundry to maintain residents’ rooms, communal areas, bathrooms and kitchens in a clean, safe and well-presented condition
  • Support and assist in organising and facilitating recreational and wellness activities for residents and clients, promoting active and positive ageing
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the Director or Manager from time to time.

Job Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • A diploma or certificate at Level 4 or above in Health Care or a related field
  • Good communication skills and a caring attitude
  • The ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
  • A commitment to providing high quality care and support
  • Pass a drug and alcohol test
  • A clear criminal record

Mandarin language skills would be an advantage, as many of the people we support are Mandarin speakers.
