We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant and support the delivery of high-quality food and service experiences for our guests. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership capability, sound operational judgment, and a genuine passion for hospitality.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A diploma in Management (or equivalent) Or
  • At least 2 years of relevant hospitality industry experience, including experience in a supervisory or management role; or
  • A bachelor’s degree in any field, demonstrating transferable skills such as leadership, communication, organisation, customer service, problem-solving, adaptability, and accountability.
  • Good understanding of restaurant operations, food service standards, and New Zealand health and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coordinate service periods, and maintain a positive working environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and staff.
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and respond calmly under pressure.
  • Reliable, well-presented, and committed to delivering a high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service delivery and a welcoming dining environment for guests.
  • Coordinate with chefs and kitchen staff on menu presentation, service flow, seasonal updates, and customer dietary requirements.
  • Assist in planning special events, group bookings, and promotional dining activities to enhance customer experience and business performance.
  • Monitor stock levels, support ordering processes, and help manage purchasing decisions in line with budget and operational needs.
  • Review pricing, sales performance, and operational costs to support efficient and profitable restaurant operations.
  • Ensure the restaurant, service areas, and dining facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and presentable condition at all times.
  • Oversee compliance with food safety, hygiene, licensing, and workplace health and safety standards in accordance with New Zealand requirements.
  • Recruit, train, roster, and supervise front-of-house team members, and support performance development across the restaurant team.
  • Respond to customer feedback professionally and take appropriate steps to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain operational records, including stock usage, staff scheduling, service issues, and relevant financial or compliance documentation.
