We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily
operations of our Japanese Restaurant and Takeaway in Te Puke, Bay of Plenty. This is a
full-time permanent position for a minimum of 30 hours a week, with additional hours
available if required. The hourly wages are offered from $28.00 to $32.00 based on the skills
and experience. The role requires leadership, organisation, and strong customer service skills
in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day restaurant operations including dine-in and takeaway services
Plan menus in consultation with chef
Supervise and coordinate front-of-house and kitchen staff
Ensure high standards of customer service and food quality
Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory
Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
Prepare staff rosters and manage shift scheduling
Monitor sales, costs, and daily cash reconciliation
Train and support staff to maintain performance standards
Candidate requirements
At least 2–3 years of relevant experience or a relevant qualification
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience in Japanese cuisine or sushi operations preferred
