About the role
DoubleTree by Hilton Wellington is seeking an experienced and driven "hands on" Restaurant & Bar Manager to join our dynamic Grazie Wellington team in Wellington CBD, Wellington. This full-time role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our popular hospitality establishment, ensuring exceptional customer service and driving business growth.
What you'll be doing

Manage and coordinate all restaurant and bar operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and financial reporting

Provide excellent customer service and resolve any guest issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner

Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the restaurant and bar, driving increased footfall and revenue

Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team of wait staff, bartenders, and other F&B personnel

Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and licensing regulations

Collaborate with the wider management team to identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives

Coordinating with the Head Chef and hotel leadership on menus and promotions

Ensuring compliance with licensing, hygiene, and health & safety standards

Creating memorable guest experiences and upholding Hilton brand service values
What we're looking for

A qualification at level 4 or above or a minimum of 3 years of work experience in a similar branded restaurant and bar management role

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build and motivate a team
- well groomed and professional in appearance

Proven track record in driving sales, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing the customer experience

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both customers and staff

Thorough understanding of hospitality industry regulations, best practices, and trends

Proficient in using point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, and other relevant hospitality technologies

Prior experience in Italian cuisine with thorough knowledge of bar area, wines and cocktails

Ability to work across a 7-day roster, including split shifts, weekends and public holidays
- A valid LCQ and General Manager Certificate (or the ability to obtain one) is required
