Miyuki Japanese Restaurant (Registered company KATSU LTD) is a popular Japanese restaurant located in Howick, Auckland that has earned recognition for its quality cuisine and excellent service. We are seeking a Restaurant Manager to join our team. As a Restaurant Manager with our company, you will be work a minimum of 30 hours per week, and you will be responsible for:

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, organise, direct, and control the overall operations of the restaurant to ensure efficient and profitable service delivery.
  2. Manage and coordinate staff, including recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management of front-of-house and kitchen employees.
  3. Develop and implement work schedules, staffing levels, and operational procedures to meet customer demand and business objectives.
  4. Monitor purchasing, stock control, and inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies to ensure cost efficiency and minimise wastage.
  5. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and licensing requirements in New Zealand.
  6. Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service, ensuring consistency with Japanese dining practices and business expectations.
  7. Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints, and implement appropriate resolutions to maintain customer satisfaction.
  8. Control restaurant budgets, pricing, and financial performance, and work with senior management to implement marketing strategies and business improvements.

Requirements:

1.      At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the same field OR

2.      NZQCF Level 4 qualification or above, No specific major is required if you have a bachelor's qualification or above.

3.      Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.

4.      Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities in high pressure situations.

5.      Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the nature of the hospitality industry.
