Restaurant & Functions Manager

Job Description

• Plan menu delivery in consultation with the kitchen team.
• Arrange the purchasing and pricing of the restaurant's offerings, ensuring decisions align with the established budget.
• Maintain meticulous records of stock levels and daily financial transactions.
• Ensure the dining facilities are spotless, functional and fully compliant with all health and safety regulations.
• Take a lead part in selecting, training and supervising both staff to ensure seamless service.
• Leading the charge in advertising and promoting our goods and services through social media to expand our market reach (especially relating to growing the functions side of the business) to the wider Otago community.
• Leading and managing group functions for our various function rooms, taking guests through the full process from identification, qualification, and proposal development, leading the event and post event follow up.
• Ensure each and every function meets and exceeds guest expectations.

Requirements:

• Tertiary Hospitality/Marketing/Events Management or other relevant qualification at Diploma or higher level
• At least 1 year of relevant hospitality experience, with demonstrable leadership qualities & an understanding of functions management
• General Manager Certificate and LCQ 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine ability to make guests feel at home
• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
• Highly self-motivated, trustworthy, with attention to detail
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required
• Experience with Open Table; Revel; Deputy; TalentLMS; Excel; Marketman an
  advantage. Confidence around learning Apps and using Technology
• Passion for organisation, positive attitude, and an interest in helping grow the business.

Guaranteed minimum 30 hours.  Share bonus scheme once in-house training completed. 50% discount of food and drinks.  20% discount when dining with family/friends.
