A Kitchen Hand plays a vital support role in the smooth operation of a kitchen by assisting chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining hygiene standards. This position requires efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring the kitchen remains clean, organized, and compliant with food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist chefs with basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
  • Wash dishes, pots, and pans efficiently
  • Ensure proper storage of food and supplies according to hygiene standards
  • Dispose of waste and maintain cleanliness in kitchen and storage areas
  • Support stock rotation and inventory management (FIFO – First In, First Out)
  • Follow all food safety and health & safety regulations
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
  • Perform general kitchen duties as required by the chef or supervisor
