YTMAS LIMITED T/A NUKKAD is a well-established and reputable brand in the Auckland food market. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated three Cook to join our growing food truck operation and 
contribute to maintaining our quality and reputation. 

Position Details

  • Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week  
  • Pay Rate: $34.00 – $36.00 per hour  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Prepare, season, and cook a variety of food items in accordance with menu requirements, ensuring consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation.  
  • Specialise in preparing Indian street food and snacks including samosa, kachori, spring rolls, momos, puff, dabeli, vadapav, maggie, sandwiches, pani puri, and a range of hot and cold beverages.  
  • Plan and organise daily food preparation activities to support efficient kitchen operations and timely service.  
  • Monitor food quality at all stages of preparation and cooking to ensure high standards are maintained.  
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of food supplies in compliance with food safety regulations.  
  • Operate cooking equipment such as fryers, ovens, and other kitchen appliances safely and efficiently.  
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment in accordance with Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.  
  • Control the food Portion, plate meals, and prepare items for service and takeaway.  
  • Assist in stock control, including checking inventory levels, estimating food requirements, and notifying management of shortages.  
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including safe food handling practices.  
  • Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced food truck environment.  
  • Assist with training and supervising junior staff where required.  
  • Contribute to menu improvements and workflow efficiency to enhance customer satisfaction.  

Job Requirements 

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a Cook 
    OR  
  • Qualification: Relevant NZQF Level 2 or higher qualification in Cookery  
    Basic communication skills and ability to follow instructions  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team  
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 25 kg  
  • Flexible to work shifts including evenings, weekends, split shifts, and public holidays  
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to perform under pressure  
  • Good personal hygiene and grooming standards  
  • Must pass drug and alcohol tests (if required)  
  • Must have a clean criminal record
