Lead, inspire and help young athletes thrive

Sport has the power to build confidence, resilience and community connection. We are seeking an Operations Manager who is passionate about people, community sport and creating environments where athletes, coaches and volunteers can succeed.

Working closely with the Club President and Committee, you will provide operational leadership for a well-established gymnastics club, helping translate strategy into action while fostering a positive, inclusive and athlete-focused culture.

This is a unique opportunity to combine leadership, community engagement and operational management in a role where your work directly supports the development and wellbeing of young athletes.

As Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the club while supporting its long-term sustainability and growth. You will lead a small team and work alongside dedicated coaches and volunteers to ensure programmes run smoothly and the club continues to be a place where athletes feel supported, safe and inspired.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Providing values-based leadership to staff and volunteers
  • Supporting a positive club culture focused on athlete wellbeing and development
  • Working with the Committee to deliver the club’s strategic priorities
  • Leading marketing, communications and membership growth initiatives
  • Securing grants, sponsorship and fundraising opportunities
  • Maintaining strong governance, compliance and health & safety practices
  • Coordinating key club events and competitions
  • Building relationships with schools, sporting bodies and community partners

About You

You are a people-focused leader who enjoys working in a collaborative, community environment and understands the important role sport plays in developing young people.

You will bring:

  • Leadership & management experience
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • The ability to work with staff, volunteers and a governance committee
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • A passion for community sport and supporting athlete development

Experience in the sport or not-for-profit sector, or with grants, sponsorship or fundraising, would be an advantage but is not essential.
