Head Housekeeper

Located near Auckland Airport, our motel offers comfortable, high-quality accommodation with excellent connectivity and a reliable shuttle service. We are now seeking 01 skilled Head Housekeeper to manage our housekeeping operations.

Job requirements

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in housekeeping
  • Exceptional customer service, communication skills
  • Be able to work weekends and nightshifts, public holiday
  • Must be computer literate
  • Proven experience within an accommodation setting is an advantage, along with a high level of performance
  • A true passion for hospitality and people, with a generous approach to training and motivating staff
  • Flexibility with client requests driven by a caring thinking
  • Well-presented, with a warm and engaging personality
  • Holding NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of housekeeping staff, including task allocation, performance monitoring, and workflow management
  • Allocates rooms and assigns housekeeping tasks based on occupancy levels, check- in/check-out schedules, and guest arrivals and departures
  • Ensures all guest rooms and motel facilities meet cleanliness and presentation standards prior to guest arrival
  • Conducts regular inspections of rooms and facilities and takes corrective action where required
  • Oversees stock control of linen, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities, including monitoring usage and coordinating reordering to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Maintains staff rosters and assists with workforce planning based on occupancy trends and operational needs
  • Trains, guides, and supervises housekeeping staff, supporting performance, resolving
    issues, and maintaining team productivity and morale
  • Ensures compliance with health, safety, and hygiene requirements and maintains housekeeping procedures
  • Reports maintenance issues and follows up to ensure timely resolution before rooms are released for occupancy
  • Communicates with motel management regarding room availability, operational priorities, and staffing requirements
  • May assist with cleaning and support front office/reception duties during peak periods to ensure smooth operations 
  • Responds to guest requests related to housekeeping and supports overall guest satisfaction

  • This role is permanent and full-time (minimum 30 hours/ week). The job location is based in Auckland
  • Competitive wages ranging from $26 to $31 per hour depending on individual experience and skills
