Chinoiserie Bar & Eatery, an Asian cuisine restaurant established in 2021, is seeking skilled Cooks to join our dynamic kitchen team.

Position: Cook
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent

Work region: Auckland
Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week
Maximum Hours: Up to 60 hours per week
Pay Rate: NZD 28 – 35 per hour (depending on skills and experience)

Key Duties

• Inspect food ingredients and supplies to ensure freshness and quality
• Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high standard
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment
• Season and cook food in accordance with recipes and kitchen standards
• Portion meals and present dishes with sauces, gravies, and garnishes
• Store food safely in temperature-controlled facilities
• Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements when needed
• Assist with menu planning and food quantity estimation
• Support the training of junior kitchen staff and apprentices if required

Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following:

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience, or
• A Level 4 qualification or higher in Cookery or a related field

You should also have:

• A genuine passion for Asian cuisine
• A strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Reliability, honesty, and initiative
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Excellent personal hygiene and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
