The Cafe Worker is responsible for providing quality food and beverage service to customers in a cafe environment. The role involves customer service, basic food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting overall cafe operations to ensure a smooth and efficient service experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food and beverages items according to company standards.
- Take customer orders and communicate them effectively to kitchen staff where required
- Operate cash registers and process transactions accurately using POS systems
- Clear tables by removing used dishes, glasses, and cutlery after customer use
- Clean and reset tables to maintain a tidy and welcoming environment
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment following food safety procedures
- Clean and maintain café equipment including coffee machines, grinders, and other appliances
- Assist with stock control, including participating in stocktakes and storing delivered goods appropriately
- Provide support to other team members to ensure efficient daily operations
- Follow all workplace health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
Skills and Attributes Required
- Must have level 1 or equivalent qualification
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and public holidays.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
