Haven Hospitality Limited trading as Hidden Lake Hotel in Cambridge is seeking 2x permanent Hotel Shift Managers to join their team.
We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours work per week. The successful applicant must be available weekends and public holidays. You will be required to work shifts (day or night)
The Hotel Shift Manager oversees daily operations during their designated shift, ensuring high guest satisfaction, staff productivity, and safety compliance, including the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012. They manage front desk activities, handle guest complaints, coordinate between departments (housekeeping, maintenance and restaurant), and supervise staff. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Remuneration ranges from $29 - $35 per hour, depending on skills and/or experience.
To be successful for this job, you will have:
- A minimum of a level 4 qualification in a relevant Hospitality or Management stream, or at least 2 years’ experience in hotel operations.
- LCQ qualification (in order to obtain a council issued manager’s certificate)
The key job duties of a Hotel Shift Manager inlcude:
· Manage the front desk, including check-ins/check-outs, reservations, and billing, while ensuring high service standards
· Overseeing hotel operations by coordinating and maintaining clear communication between housekeeping, hotel attendants, maintenance and restaurant staff to ensure seamless service delivery
· Organising and managing shift schedules for team members
· Monitoring attendance, tardiness and time off of staff
· Ensure labour budget allowances are met
· Assigning duties to employees based on role and skills
· Supervising employees including room inspection checks and assisting with tasks as necessary
· Conducting performance reviews and sharing feedback with both senior management and team members
· Managing employees’ requests and transgressions
· Training new and current team members on tasks
· Resolve client complaints, special requests, and issues efficiently and courteously
· Comply fully with Health and Safety policies
· Ensure hotel compliance with sale of alcohol
