Fast Food Cook – Christchurch

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Fast Food Cook to join our fast-food restaurant based in Christchurch. This is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the kitchen and ensuring high standards of food preparation and customer service.

This is a full-time position offering a minimum of 30 hours and up to 50 hours per week. The pay rate ranges from $24 to $26 per hour, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking and serving food and beverage orders, and processing customer payments
  • Preparing food items such as burgers, wraps, chips, and other menu items
  • Washing, cutting, measuring, and mixing ingredients for cooking
  • Operating cooking equipment such as grills, microwaves, and deep-fat fryers
  • Cleaning food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
  • Ordering and receiving deliveries of fast-food ingredients
  • Assisting with the preparation and coordination of delivery orders
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
  • Working collaboratively with team members to maintain smooth kitchen operations

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety practices
  • Good personal hygiene and ability to maintain a clean workspace
  • Reliability, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a team
  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred; however, training will be provided to the right candidate.

Must be willing to undergo a Ministry of Justice convictions check. Must be willing to complete a pre-employment drug test
