We are looking for two motivated and reliable Cooks to join our busy restaurant in West Melton, Canterbury. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a supportive, fastpaced kitchen environment and take pride in delivering highquality food.

 

What We Offer

•            Location: West Melton, Canterbury

•            Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week

•            Pay Rate: $24 – $28 per hour (based on experience)

•            Shifts: Rostered shifts, including weekends

 

Key Responsibilities

•            Prepare and cook menu items to restaurant standards, ensuring consistent quality.

•            Carry out daily food preparation tasks following established recipes, portion sizes,                      and presentation guidelines.

•            Follow instructions from senior kitchen staff and adhere to all kitchen procedures.

•            Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation and                          storage areas.

•            Correctly handle, store, and rotate food items, including checking expiry dates.

•            Monitor the quality of raw and cooked food products.

•            Comply with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety                                    requirements.

•            Use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

•            Assist with monitoring stock levels and notify supervisors when supplies need                             replenishing.

•            Help with receiving, storing, and organising food deliveries.

•            Maintain good knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.

•            Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service.

•            Plate dishes accurately with correct portion sizes and garnishes, ensuring                                      presentation meets restaurant standards.

 

Requirements

•            At least 1 year of relevant experience, or a relevant qualification at Level 4 or                           above.

•            Strong attention to detail, especially regarding food quality, presentation, and                          cleanliness.

•            Ability to work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.

•            Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

•            Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work rostered shifts including weekends.
