We are looking for a motivated and reliable Restaurant Manager to join our busy restaurant in West Melton, Canterbury. What We Offer
• Location: West Melton, Canterbury
• Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week
• Pay Rate: $27 – $35 per hour (depending on experience)
• Shifts: Rostered shifts, including weekends
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure the restaurant runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably. You will work closely with both front‑of‑house and kitchen teams to maintain high service standards and support a positive, well‑coordinated working environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Customer Service: Greet guests, manage reservations, and ensure an excellent dining experience. Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally.
• Event & Function Coordination: Organise and manage special events, ensuring seamless service and client satisfaction.
• Menu Coordination: Work with the kitchen team to refine menu offerings based on customer preferences and business needs.
• Stock & Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage ordering, and ensure timely supply of ingredients and materials.
• Financial Oversight: Review sales data, assist with budgeting, and support financial planning and forecasting.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff to maintain high morale and strong performance.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to Health and Safety regulations, food‑handling standards, and hygiene protocols.
• Liquor Licensing: Oversee the sale and supply of alcohol in accordance with licensing laws and responsible service requirements.
• Quality Control: Monitor food preparation and service standards to ensure consistency and quality across all menu items.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
• At least 1 year of relevant experience, or a relevant qualification at Level 4 or above.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to build customer loyalty.
• A dynamic, confident personality with strong leadership abilities.
• A passion for delivering high‑quality food and maintaining excellent service standards.
• A current General Manager’s Certificate / LQC (preferred but not essential).
