Food and Beverage Attendant

S&V GROUP NZ LIMITED  is currently looking for 4 Food and Beverage Attendants for a full-time permanent position for our Indian Restaurant. The hourly wage rates range from $25.00 to $35.00. The company is based in Auckland

The Food and Beverage Attendant is responsible for handling customers and serving food and beverages in a restaurant by performing the following job duties:

• Greeting customers on arrival, presenting menus, and assisting with seating arrangements in a courteous and professional manner.
• Explaining menu items, including traditional Indian dishes (e.g., curries, tandoori items, biryanis), ingredients, spice levels, and preparation methods to assist customers in making informed choices.
• Taking accurate food and beverage orders and entering them into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Serving food and beverages promptly, ensuring correct presentation and adherence to hygiene and service standards.
• Providing recommendations on menu items, including vegetarian, vegan, and dietary-specific options commonly offered in Indian cuisine.
• Monitoring customer satisfaction, responding to requests, and resolving complaints efficiently.
• Clearing tables, removing used dishes and utensils, and resetting tables for the next service.
• Preparing and serving beverages such as lassi, chai, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages where applicable.
• Processing customer payments, including handling cash, EFTPOS, and credit card transactions, and issuing receipts.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of dining areas, service stations, and equipment in accordance with food safety regulations.
• Coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and special requests.
• Assisting in opening and closing duties, including setting up dining areas and restocking service items.
• Adhering to workplace health and safety (WHS) standards and food hygiene practices.
• Promoting restaurant specials, events, or new menu items to customers.
