The Bar Manager is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of licensed premises operated by Babbu Hospitality NZ Limited. This role ensures compliance with New Zealand alcohol legislation, manages staff, establishes operational standards, and delivers a safe, welcoming, and high-quality environment for patrons.

  • Manage daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Supervise and lead staff to ensure efficient and professional service during trading hours
  • Prepare and manage staff rosters in line with operational requirements
  • Ensure compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, health and safety regulations, and all relevant legislation
  • Monitor patron behaviour and enforce host responsibility practices
  • Operate and manage TAB services, including customer support and cash handling
  • Oversee gaming machine operations in accordance with venue policies and regulatory requirements
  • Handle cash management, including daily banking, reconciliation, and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Operate POS systems and report discrepancies where necessary
  • Manage stock levels, including ordering, supplier coordination, and inventory records
  • Maintain high standards of customer service at all times
  • Ensure all health and safety requirements are consistently met
  • Determine service standards and establish store policies
  • Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies
  • Set pricing in line with business objectives and market conditions
  • Develop and manage the bar’s budget, including cost control and financial planning

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required
