Position Overview

As a Senior Bartender at QT Auckland, you’re more than a mixologist — you’re a showrunner behind the bar. You’ll lead by example during service, craft exceptional cocktails, support the wider team and help create an electric atmosphere guests won’t forget.

This is a hands-on role for someone with strong cocktail experience, natural leadership and the confidence to own a busy bar while keeping things smooth, sharp and seriously fun.

This is a permanent full-time role with a minimum guaranteed hours of 30 per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality cocktails with consistency, creativity and flair.
• Support day-to-day bar operations to ensure smooth, efficient service.
• Lead by example during service, setting the tone for energy and guest engagement.
• Train and mentor junior bartenders, building capability and product knowledge.
• Drive upselling through confident recommendations and menu expertise.
• Monitor stock levels, minimise wastage and support stock control processes.
• Maintain compliance with RSA, health & safety and QT brand standards.

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 1 year of proven experience as a Senior Bartender.
• Current LCQ license.
• Strong cocktail experience with advanced mixology knowledge and creativity.
• Experience batching cocktails in a high-volume environment.
• Experience using Infrasys POS systems.
• Confidence leading service and supporting a high-performing team.
• A natural ability to connect with guests and create memorable experiences.
• Strong understanding of bar operations, stock control and service flow.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and late nights.
