We are looking for Cooks (2 positions available), to come and join our restaurant in Taupiri, Waikato. This is a full-time role, and we offer a minimum of 30 hours per week, with a maximum of up to 50 hours.

The tasks you will do:

·    Prepare and cook menu items to restaurant standards, ensuring consistent quality.

·  Carry out daily food preparation tasks following established recipes, portion sizes and presentation guidelines.

·     Follow instructions from senior kitchen staff and adhere to all kitchen procedures.

·     Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation and storage areas.

·      Correctly handle, store, and rotate food items, including checking expiry dates.

·     Monitor the quality of raw and cooked food products.

·      Comply with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety requirements.

·      Use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

·      Assist with monitoring stock levels and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishing.

·      Help with receiving, storing, and organising food deliveries.

·     Maintain good knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.

·      Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service.

·     Plate dishes accurately with correct portion sizes and garnishes, ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards.

What We’re Looking For:

·         At least 1 year of relevant experience,

·         or a relevant qualification at Level 4 or above.

·         Strong attention to detail, especially regarding food quality, presentation, and cleanliness.

·         Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.

·         Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

·         Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work rostered shifts including weekends.
