Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and control the operations of the café (staff, customer service, finances, supply chain)
  • Plan menus in consultation with chefs, coordinate specials, and ensure consistency and quality
  • Manage purchasing, inventory, and pricing to meet budgetary goals and margin targets
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and performance-manage staff (kitchen, baristas, front-of-house)
  • Monitor staff rosters, labor costs, and productivity
  • Ensure café complies with all health, safety, licensing, and food hygiene regulations
  • Handle customer issues, ensure high levels of service and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain financial records, analyze sales performance, prepare reports, and forecasts
  • Promote marketing activities, social media engagement, events, and community partnerships

Requirements

  • A relevant qualification of level 5, or at least 2 years’ relevant experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask, think strategically, and make decisions under pressure
  • Familiarity with food safety, licensing, and health regulations
  • An alcohol - drug test and a clean criminal history are essential.
