Rotational Shifts
This is aged care the way it should be. A small, close-knit team, a culture built on genuine care, and a leadership structure that actually listens.
If you are a Registered Nurse who wants to be known by name, not by number, and work somewhere your clinical skills are valued and your career is supported, this is worth reading.
The Role
You will be working across rotational shifts in a residential aged care facility in Gisborne, delivering hands-on clinical care to residents with a wide range of needs.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Wound assessment and management
- Medication administration and management
- Developing, reviewing and updating individualised care plans
- interRAI assessments (full training provided if you are not yet accredited)
- First aid response
- Accurate clinical documentation and handover
- Supporting caregiving staff and contributing to a strong team environment
- Communicating with residents, families and the wider clinical team
Current Staffing Model
- AM shift: 2 Registered Nurses, increasing to 3
- PM shift: 2 Registered Nurses
- Night shift: 1 Registered Nurse, increasing to 2
This is a facility investing in its nursing team. The staffing ratios are moving in the right direction.
What You Bring
- Current New Zealand nursing registration (or eligibility to register with NCNZ)
- Experience in residential aged care or a genuine desire to build your career in the sector
- Solid wound care and medication management skills
- Current first aid certificate
- A calm, compassionate approach and strong communication skills
- interRAI experience is an advantage, but not essential. Training will be provided.

- Flat management structure. Your voice is heard.
- Professional development and career progression supported
- A culture of genuine care, for residents and for staff
- Relocation support available if you are moving to Gisborne, including assistance with accommodation, transport, banking and settling in
- Up to $43 per hour, based on your New Zealand aged care experience
