The Role

You will be working across rotational shifts in a residential aged care facility in Gisborne, delivering hands-on clinical care to residents with a wide range of needs.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Wound assessment and management
• Medication administration and management
• Developing, reviewing and updating individualised care plans
• interRAI assessments (full training provided if you are not yet accredited)
• First aid response
• Accurate clinical documentation and handover
• Supporting caregiving staff and contributing to a strong team environment
• Communicating with residents, families and the wider clinical team

Current Staffing Model

• AM shift: 2 Registered Nurses, increasing to 3
• PM shift: 2 Registered Nurses
• Night shift: 1 Registered Nurse, increasing to 2

This is a facility investing in its nursing team. The staffing ratios are moving in the right direction.

What You Bring

• Current New Zealand nursing registration (or eligibility to register with NCNZ)
• Experience in residential aged care or a genuine desire to build your career in the sector
• Solid wound care and medication management skills
• Current first aid certificate
• A calm, compassionate approach and strong communication skills
• interRAI experience is an advantage, but not essential. Training will be provided.
