VN Express Limited, established in 2024, is a Vietnamese restaurant located in Birkenhead, Auckland, dedicated to delivering authentic Vietnamese cuisine to local customers. Due to business need, we are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Vietnamese restaurant. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality and service, managing staff, and ensuring an excellent dining experience that reflects authentic Vietnamese cuisine and hospitality.

 

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

·       Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service

·       Ensure all dining areas, kitchen, and facilities are clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations

·       Monitor overall restaurant performance and implement improvements where necessary

Food & Menu Coordination

·       Collaborate with chefs to plan and update authentic Vietnamese menus

·       Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and portion control

·       Support seasonal menu development and promotional activities

Customer Service

·       Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service delivery

·       Handle customer feedback, complaints, and special requests in a professional manner

·       Greet and engage with customers to enhance their dining experience

Staff Management

·       Recruit, train, and supervise other staff

Financial & Inventory Control

·       Manage stock levels and oversee ordering of supplies and ingredients

·       Maintain accurate records of sales, expenses, and inventory

·       Operate within budgets to maximise profitability and minimise waste

Events & Functions

·       Plan and coordinate special events, group bookings, and functions

·       Ensure smooth execution of catering and banquet services when required

 

Minimum Qualification & Work Experience

·       NZQF Level 5 Diploma or higher in Hospitality or Business, AND

·       At least six (6) months of relevant work experience in a hospitality or restaurant environment

Skills & Attributes Required

·       Strong leadership and organisational skills

·       Good understanding of Vietnamese cuisine and culture (advantageous)

·       Excellent communication and customer service skills

·       Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
