• Prepare and cook a wide range of food items.
  • Examine food stuffs to ensure freshness and quality standards are maintained.
  • Operate and regulate ovens, stoves and other cooking equipment at appropriate temperatures.
  • Season food during cooking to achieve authentic taste and flavour.
  • Portion dishes and add gravies, sauces and garnishes for presentation.
  • Store food safely in temperature-controlled facilities.
  • Prepare meals to meet specific dietary requirements when necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels to ensure continuous kitchen operations.
  • Plan menu and estimate food requirements to enhance menu requirements.
  • Recruit, train and supervise kitchen staff ensuring efficient workflow and teamwork to meet restaurant and kitchen standards.
  • Adhere to hygiene and safety regulations in line with New Zealand health and safety guidelines.

Qualification, Experience, and Attributes Required:

  • At least 4 years work experience and minimum level 7 qualification.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays as required.
  • Availability to work late nights.
  • Ability to multitask and strong team player.
