Hong Kong Restaurant is located in Invercargill, South Island. We provide top-class dumplings and other Chinese dishes. We now need one Cook to help us to provide top-quality food. This is a full-time job with guaranteed hours of 30 hours per week.

The job involves the following tasks and duties:  

• Preparing and cooking all the dishes offered by the restaurant
• Seasoning food during preparation and cooking, when necessary
• Monitoring the quality of food at all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation
• Store unused food and material in a proper way
• Assisting in improving dishes
• Assisting in managing the overall operation of the kitchen
• Assisting in ordering supplies and stocks
• Ensuring the kitchen’s operation complies with hygiene and safety regulations. 

 

To qualify for the job, you will need at least two years of relevant work experience. You should have a can-do attitude and be able to work under pressure since our restaurant is extremely busy during peak hours. You should also have strong interpersonal skills to coordinate kitchen duties.
