About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Caregiver to join our dedicated support team in Wellington. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, person-centered care to clients within their homes or residential facilities across the Canterbury suburbs. You will be a vital link in the healthcare chain, providing essential daily support that allows our clients to maintain independence and a high quality of life.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Accompanying aged and disabled persons during daily activities
  • Assisting clients with their mobility
  • Preparing food for clients
  • Arranging social activities
  • Performing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming and cleaning
  • Assisting in personal hygiene and dressing
  • Providing companionship, friendship and emotional support
  • May do shopping and run errands
  • May live in with the person

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 3+ years of proven experience in caregiving, nursing support, or a community health role; OR  Qualifications: A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4) or a New Zealand Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (Level 5).
  • Empathy & Patience: A genuine desire to help others and the emotional intelligence to handle sensitive situations with calm and kindness.
  • Reliability: Total dependability is a must—our clients throughout Canterbury rely on your presence for their daily well-being.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate effectively with clients, families, and medical professionals.
  • Logistics: A valid driver’s license and reliable transport to travel to various client locations across Christchurch.
