We are seeking an experienced and motivated Venue Manager to lead the operations of our busy St Helier’s Bay Café and Bistro. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall performance, profitability, and success of the business, ensuring high-quality customer experiences and efficient operations.

This is a full-time, permanent position, with a minimum of 30 hours guaranteed per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the overall operations of the venue, including both front-of-house and back-of-house teams
  • Take full responsibility for financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and achieving revenue and profit targets
  • Develop and implement business strategies, operational plans, and service standards
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning, pricing, and product development
  • Plan and oversee functions, events, and group bookings
  • Manage all aspects of staffing, including recruitment, training, rostering, and performance management
  • Oversee stock control, purchasing, and supplier management
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting, POS management, and daily reconciliations
  • Monitor and improve customer experience and service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with Food Control Plan (FCP), health and safety, licensing, and employment regulations

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • At least 3 years of management experience in the hospitality industry, including responsibility for managing operations in high-volume, full-service establishments such as hotels, restaurants, or bistros.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead both FOH and BOH teams
  • Availability to work on weekends and public holidays
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • A strong focus on customer service and continuous improvement
