ANCIENT CUISINE LIMITED located in Newmarket, Auckland, is looking for two full-time COOKS to join our team. As a COOK, you will be working a minimum of 30 hours per week on a roster. You will be responsible for:

Job Description:

  • Assist the chef in planning ingredient requirements, selecting ingredient types, and checking quality.
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking and support the chef during food preparation.
  • Operate and adjust cooking equipment, such as ovens, to maintain proper temperatures.
  • Support the chef in training kitchen staff and participating in the recruitment of new team members.
  • Season dishes according to customer preferences during preparation.
  • Portion and plate cooked food attractively in various dishes and containers.
  • Manage ingredient stock levels to prevent shortages or spoilage.
  • Collaborate with the chef and restaurant manager on menu design and dish planning.
  • Perform any additional duties as directed by the head chef or management.

About you:

  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience OR
  • NZQCF Level 4 relevant qualification or above
  • Physically fit with a clear criminal record
