Key tasks and responsibilities of the role

Overview: Supporting the day-to-day operation of the Restaurant and bar, and act as the Restaurant Manager when on duty

Duties: The Employee will undertake the following duties:

  •  Be qualified and responsible for the sale of alcohol in accordance with the Sale & Supply of Alcohol Act 2012,
  • Be responsible for the restaurant and bar operations during shift, including in achieving sales and operational targets, and act as the Restaurant Manager on duty,
  • Monitor daily sales performance and labour costs during shifts and report operational results to senior management.
  • Support the implementation of operational procedures, service standards, and efficiency improvements across Front of House operations,
  • Participate in the hiring, training & supervision of restaurant staff, and ensure staff work in the manner of a team & keep good relations between the Front of House & Back of House
  • Support for planning food menus with Head Chef to meet customers' satisfaction, and in setting up prices of food to meet the budget,
  • Contribute to the planning in beverage list and price in accordance with cost level,
  • Support the preparation of front of house staff rosters, and assist in staff allocation in accordance with trade to meet the labour budget,
  • Be responsible for liaising with customers to plan special functions when required,
  • Participate in ordering stock for front of house, support senior chefs with their ordering if required, and maintain accurate records of stock levels and financial transactions,
  • Ensure dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance,
  • Ensure Health and Safety is met at all times,
  • Confer with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service,
  • Assist with maintaining records of invoices from suppliers and arrange payment to suppliers on time,
  • Assist with processing staff timesheets and wage records,
  • Take reservations, greet guests and assist in taking orders,
  • Any other duties the employer may reasonably require.

 

Position Details:

This is a full-time permanent position with a guaranteed 30 hours per week on the roster. The hourly rate is $28.00 to $30.00 commensurate with your

skills/qualifications/experience

Requirements from you:

The successful candidate must have:

·  Either a NZQF level 5 qualification or at least 2 years of relevant experience if no qualification is available.

·    A valid Duty Manager Liquor licence;

·   The ability to work for late night shift during weekend and/or public holidays;

·   Passion for providing exceptional customer service;
