Waiter / Waitress

About the Role

We are looking for energetic, friendly, and professional Waiters / Waitresses to join our team in our busy Chinese restaurant. You will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring every guest has a memorable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide warm and professional service to all guests in a fast-paced environment
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
• Serve food and drinks with attention to detail and presentation
• Recommend menu items and upsell specials when appropriate
• Handle reservations, greet guests, and manage table seating
• Process payments and manage bills using the POS system
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any complaints professionally
• Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow
• Assist with setting up and clearing tables for banquets and private functions
• Follow all food safety and health & safety procedures

Requirements

• Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a restaurant (Chinese restaurant experience is highly preferred)
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
• Good command of spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin)
• Presentable appearance and strong teamwork skills
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

• Guaranteed 30 hours of work per week
• Hourly rate: NZD 24.00-27.00 depending on your expertise
