We are looking for Assistant Cooks to work for our busy restaurant. Candidate should pass a background check and be physically fit. New Zealand citizen or resident will be getting preference. It is a full time permanent and in Auckland. The minimum work will be 32 hours pw and maximum will be 46 hours pw. The minimum wage is $27.00 ph and maximum wages will be $32.00ph. There will be one and half overtime payment.

Job Description. 

·         To be a full-time Assistant Cook of the employer

·         · Assisting in taking and serving food orders, and receiving payments from customers

·         · Assisting in washing, cutting, measuring, and mixing food for cooking

·         Page 1· Supporting in preparing and cooking bulk foods

·         · Assisting to prepare, season, and cook food in a dining, buffet, and catering establishment

·         · Assisting in preparing and cooking food to meet special dietary requirements

·         · Assisting in operating cooking equipment such as ovens, grills, microwaves, and deep-fat fryers

·         · Helping maintain temperatures of ovens and other cooking equipment

·         · Assisting in cleaning food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils, and ensuring that the

·         kitchen premises are at all times kept clean and well maintained

·         · Assisting in portioning food and placing it on plates, adding gravies

·         · Supporting senior kitchen staff and assisting in training on safety procedures

·         · Assisting in garnishing food as per request

·         · Assisting in receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies and preparing food as per Council

·         requirements and regulations relating to food safety

·         · Assisting to estimate food requirements and plan menus

·         · Assisting in ensuring that the premises are not subjected or exposed to any fire risks and that all fire

·         safety regulations are met at all times

·         · Reporting promptly to the employer any complaints

·         · Following instructions from the Cook and Owner in all aspects 

 

Skill Requires for Cooks

·         Two years of relevant work experience

·         Must have the ability to assist the head cook to prepare and cook a variety of Asian dishes, with a strong knowledge of authentic recipes

·         Must possess a sound understanding of health and safety standards in a commercial kitchen environment

·         Must be cooperative, respectful, and able to work harmoniously with fellow team members
