PACIFIC MOTEL LIMITED, Auckland is looking for a skilled and passionate Head Housekeeper to join our team.

This is a full-time role with 30 to 40 hours of work per week. Pay starts from $30 to $35 per hour

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise housekeeping staff including room attendants, cleaners, and laundry personnel to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Plan, schedule, and allocate work duties to housekeeping team members.
  • Inspect rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards are maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations across all housekeeping activities.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, including ordering cleaning materials, linen, and guest amenities.
  • Coordinate with other departments (front office, maintenance, management) to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff to maintain service quality and performance standards.
  • Handle guest requests and complaints related to housekeeping services in a professional manner.
  • Maintain records and reports related to staff attendance, cleaning schedules, and inventory usage.
  • Monitor and control costs within the housekeeping department.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification (e.g., Level 4 or above in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or a related field), OR
    At least 2 years of relevant work experience in housekeeping or accommodation services.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a housekeeping or hospitality environment would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of cleaning standards, hygiene practices, and health & safety regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with staff and other departments.
