D & D Cuisines Limited is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join our team. Great opportunity for right candidate. Working closely with restaurant manager and assisting the daily operation of business. Completing delegated task efficiently allowing restaurant manager to focus on more important task. Ideally the person will take instructions from restaurant manager and support in daily basic operation of business.
Key Responsibilities:
Should have or able to get Duty Managers Certificate. Must always keep a valid Duty Managers Certificate.
Should have & regularly update knowledge of Indian food, ingredients, taste etc. Knowledge of Indian food is very important to make suggestion for meals to customers, taking into consideration customers dietary needs/ allergies etc.
Designing menu for groups if needed or as asked by restaurant manager based on customer’s requirements (budget, dietary, taste preference etc).
Managing banking and cashiering of the Restaurant in absence of restaurant manager or as needed.
Training and supervising waiting and kitchenRes staff if needed or as asked by restaurant manager.
Good decision making, and customer service skills are required.
Maintenance of the premises and equipment.
If needed making rosters for the staff and communicating effectively with the staff to ensure everyone knows when they are working.
Ordering and inventory control following the ordering system if asked by restaurant manager.
Receive and record the supplies from suppliers as per food control plans requirement.
Maintain proper record (inventory & invoicing) of supplies received.
To understand and maintain records on the use of the Food Control Act, first aid kit, OSH and Fire Safety procedures.
Assist kitchen staff if needed.
Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions if asked.
Making sure that dining facilities comply with health regulations, legal regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance.
Follow any instructions given by Director, restaurant manager or any representative appointed.
Regular interaction with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service.
Take reservations, greet guests, and assist in taking orders as and when required.
Should be able to manage restaurant in absence of restaurant manager.
Willing to work split shifts.
Assist restaurant manager as needed to make sure restaurant operation runs smoothly.

Job Details:
Location: Christchurch Canterbury, New Zealand.
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent.
Employer: D&D Cuisines Ltd.
Hours: Minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week.
Work Schedule: Between 11:30 AM and 11:30 PM, including weekends and public holidays.
Pay Rate: $25.5 to $30.50 per hour (depending on skills and experience).
Minimum Requirements:
NZQF Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in Hospitality Management
OR
At least 2 years of relevant work experience as restaurant manager, supervisor or assistant restaurant manager or a similar role.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and compliance requirements.
Ability to work under pressure and make effective decisions.
Knowledge of Indian cuisine and customer dietary requirements is preferred. Knowledge of Indian food is important to make suggestion to customers while taking to consideration dietary needs/ allergies etc.
