EM Private Limited is seeking a professional and skilled Restaurant Manager to join our team in Hamilton, Waikato. The successful candidate will be customer service-focused, reliable, and capable of overseeing daily operations while contributing to a smooth and welcoming dining experience for customers.
Key Duties
- Take responsibility for the overall management of restaurant operations, staffing, and customer service activities.
- Ensure the restaurant operates efficiently while maintaining high operational and service standards.
- Establish and maintain operational procedures, workplace policies, and service standards to support consistent business operations.
- Manage budgets, review sales and labour costs, monitor profit margins, and implement measures to improve business performance.
- Prepare operational and business performance reports for owners/directors, as required.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of front-of-house and kitchen staff.
- Supervise employee performance and address performance or disciplinary matters when necessary.
- Prepare and manage staff rosters to ensure appropriate staffing during operating hours.
- Coordinate and manage functions, events, and private bookings.
- Oversee purchasing, stock management, pricing, and cost control of food and beverage items.
- Work closely with chefs to support menu planning, food quality, and service consistency.
- Maintain accurate records relating to stock control, staff timesheets, and daily operational activities.
- Monitor operational expenses, manage cash handling procedures, and minimise wastage to support profitability.
- Check deliveries, reconcile supplier invoices, and complete banking and cash reconciliation duties.
- Lead, support, and motivate staff to maintain efficient operations and a high standard of customer service.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming dining environment for customers.
- Handle customer complaints, feedback, and enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, food hygiene, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and you will be paid between $28.00 to $35.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience OR at least a level 6 relevant qualification.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
