The Coffee Club Hastings is part of one of New Zealand's most recognized café and restaurant brands. We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Cafe Manager to join our team.

Location: Hastings, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week

Pay Rate: NZD $30.00 – $32.00 per hour (depending on experience)

 

About the Role:

This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the café, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining efficient workflow, and contributing to a positive team environment.

Key Responsibilities：

  • Oversee daily café operations and ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
  • Support and supervise team members during daily operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff, and the preparation of work rosters to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
  • Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
  • Work closely with Chefs to implement menu updates and seasonal specials.
  • Help coordinate special events, group bookings, and promotional activities when required.
  • Order café supplies and monitor stock levels to support efficient daily operations and minimise waste.

Requirements：

  • At least two years of experience working in a café environment.
  • Good understanding of café service procedures and day-to-day operations.
  • Positive and professional attitude towards customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to support, motivate, and guide team members.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Flexible, reliable, and committed to maintaining high service standards.
