A Motel Manager is responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operation of a motel, ensuring high standards of guest service, efficient business operations, and compliance with New Zealand laws and industry standards. The role includes overseeing accommodation services, managing staff, handling reservations and customer enquiries, monitoring financial performance, maintaining the property, and ensuring the health, safety, and security of guests and employees

As a Motel Manager, your primary responsibility would be to organise and control the
operations of our motel located in Christchurch, in the Canterbury region to provide guest
accommodation and other services.

This requires the manager to have good communication skills, pleasing personality, and a positive attitude towards staff. 

In return, you will get to manage the motel and make decisions independantly. You will be guaranteed 30 hours per week  with a pay rate between $30 to $35 per hour depending on your skills. 


Your duties would include:
 Manage the daily Motel activities including reservations, front reception,
housekeeping and room service
 Managing and monitoring the room prices
 Welcoming the guests on arrival, ensuring their check in process is smooth
 Monitor occupancy rates and managing the bookings
 Handle guest enquiries, requests or any complaints over the phone and in
person efficiently
 Determining work requirements and allocating duties to staff and contract
workers coming into the Motel including cleaners or housekeepers
 Conferring with managers to coordinate activities with other organisational
units
 Maintaining attendance records and staff rosters
 Managing budgets, expenses and daily cash handling
 Maintaining financial records and transaction
 Explaining and enforcing safety regulations to all staff and guests
 Overseeing the work of housekeeping and suggesting improvements and
changes

 Be the first point of contact for staff and workers to resolve grievances
 May perform front office and reception duties.

 

We require the ideal candidates to have: 

  • Atleast 1 to 2 years of experience in a Motel Environment OR atleast a diploma or a bachelor degree as an absolute minimum
  • Clean and Full Drivers License ( in case of any urgent guest matters)
  • Clean Criminal record
  • Great attitude towards problem solving
  • Must be available to work on weekends
