AJ international Limited is seeking a Bar Manager, you will be responsible for organising and controlling the operation of establishments, its financial performance, staff management, inventory control, and strict compliance with New Zealand liquor, gaming, and health and safety legislation.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Hastings

The role

€        Responsible for the overall daily operations of the entire venue across the bar, kitchen, TAB, and gaming room.

€        Plan sports viewing events, run promotions, liaise with suppliers and manage customer relationships to boost foot traffic and venue profitability.

€        Manage operational budgets, control wage costs, oversee stock procurement, and handle daily financial reconciliations.

€        Handle end-to-end staff management, from recruitment and rostering to ongoing training and performance reviews.

€        Ensuring strict compliance with liquor licensing, Class 4 gaming regulations, TAB rules, health and safety standards and other laws and regulations.

€        ensure that a consistent standard of customer service is delivered and resolving complex customer complaints and actively reviewing customer satisfaction

€        Maintain high hygiene and safety standards across the venue and food preparation areas.

What We’re Looking For

€        Minimum 3 years’+ industry experience or a Diploma Level 5 or higher qualification

€        Current Manager Certificate or LCQ

€        Calm under pressure during busy services

Minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week. Evenings and weekends required

Hourly rate $25per hour (depending on experience)
