We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a
Operational Manager at our Bakery in taranaki - New Plymouth region.
We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week at pay rate of $28.00 to $35.00 depending on the experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, direct and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the bakery to ensure efficient production and service delivery.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and quality assurance systems to improve productivity and maintain consistent product standards.
- Forecast inventory requirements based on production schedules, seasonal demand, and sales trends.
- Source, negotiate, and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure high-quality ingredients, packaging materials, equipment, and other supplies at competitive prices.
- Evaluate supplier performance by monitoring pricing, quality, delivery times, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders, monitor stock levels, and ensure timely procurement of all materials required for uninterrupted bakery operations.
- Oversee inventory management systems, conduct regular stock audits, minimise wastage, and implement effective stock rotation practices.
- Monitor operational costs and purchasing budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and prepare reports for senior management.
- Coordinate production schedules with bakery supervisors to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time while maintaining product quality.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Monitor equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate servicing or repairs to minimise operational downtime.
- Recruit, supervise, train, and evaluate operational and support staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels and workforce productivity.
- Develop staff rosters and allocate resources to meet operational requirements efficiently.
- Analyse sales, production, procurement, and inventory data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
- Resolve supplier issues, operational challenges, and customer service concerns promptly to maintain business continuity.
- Collaborate with management to develop business strategies, introduce new products, and improve operational efficiency.
- Prepare operational reports, procurement reports, inventory reports, and performance analyses for management review.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, employment legislation, and financial controls relating to procurement and operational activities.
- Identify business risks relating to supply chain disruptions and implement contingency plans to ensure continuity of operations.
- Continuously review operational processes and procurement practices to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support the bakery's growth objectives.
Requirements:
- 2 years’ experience in managemnent or a minimum of level4 relevant qualification in Management or Finance or relevant field
- Personal pride in presentation and professionalism
